Vassilis Anastassopoulos - Professor
He received the B.Sc. degree in Physics in 1980 and his Ph.D. in Electronics in 1986, both from the University of Patras, Greece. He is the Head of Physics Department, University of Patras, for the biennium 2005-2007. From 1989 to 1990 he worked as a Research Associate in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Toronto. Since 1990 he has been in close co-operation with AUG Signals Ltd, a Canadian company, working on Radar Signal Detection. He has been teaching, for almost 20 years, Basic Electronics, Digital Signal & Image Processing, Informatics and Programming. He is the author of four books, one of which on Sigma-Delta Modulators Published by Imperial College Press (Singapore, 2003).
He has been an Associate Editor in the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II. Currently, he is Associate Editor in the Pattern Recognition Journal. He is involved in ESA activities and recently he was appointed as Advisor in AFC ESA Committee. His publication record contains 70 journal and conference papers. His research interests are within the scope of Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing, Radar Signal Processing and Remote Sensing, Pattern Recognition and Classification with emphasis on Hand-Written Pattern Analysis. He is an IEEE member.

Athanassios A. Argiriou - Assistant Professor
He received the B.Sc. degree in Physics in 1983 from the University of Patras, Greece, the Diplome d'Etudes Approfondies degree in Energy Physics from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, France, in 1984 and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Provence, Marseilles, France in 1987. Part of his Ph.D. work focused on the application of remote sensing (infrared thermography) on the accurate measurement of temperature in high temperature thermal systems. His current research interests comprise the study of environmental and atmospheric systems using conventional measurement systems and remote sensing techniques.

Dr Elias Zois (BSc, MSc,PhD) was born in Athens, Greece. He received the B.Sc. degree in Physics in 1994, the M.Sc. degree in electronics in 1997 and his PhD in 2000, all from the Department of Physics, University of Patras, Greece. He is now a laboratorial professor at the Electronics Department, Athens Technological and Educational Institution, Athens, Greece. His main research interests includes digital signal and image processing, system implementation and pattern recognition.

Dr. Nikos Fragoulis (BSc, MSc, PhD) received the B.Sc. degree in Physics in 1995, the M.Sc. degree in electronics in 1998 and the PhD in 2005 from the Department of Physics, University of Patras, Greece. He is now a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Physics, University of Patras, Greece. His main research interests include integrated circuits design, broadband and optical communications, signal processing and remote sensing.

Spyros Hinopoulos (BSc, MSc) received the B.Sc. degree in Physics in 1995 from the Department of Physics, University of Patras, Greece and the M.Sc. degree in Communication Systems and Signal Processing in 1997 from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Bristol, UK. He is now pursuing a PhD degree in data fusion for reliable aircraft navigation in the Department of Physics, University of Patras, Greece. His main research interests include Navigational Aids, Global Navigation Satellite Systems, Ground and Space Based Augmentation Systems.

George Christoulas (BSc, MSc) received the B.Sc. degree in Physics in 2001, and the M.Sc. degree in Electronics in 2004 both from the Department of Physics, University of Patras, Greece. He is now pursuing a Ph.D degree in image processing for classification of remote sensing images in the Department of Physics, University of Patras, Greece. His main research interests include image processing, pattern recognition and machine learning.

Antigoni Panagiotopoulou (BSc, MSc) received the B.Sc. degree in Physics in 2002, and the M.Sc. degree in Electronics in 2004 both from the Department of Physics, University of Patras, Greece. She is now pursuing a Ph.D degree in image processing for increasing image resolution in the Department of Physics, University of Patras, Greece. Her main research interests include image processing, pattern recognition, super-resolution and interpolation methods.

Vassilis Tsagaris (BSc, MSc)
He received the B.Sc. degree in Physics in 1998, the M.Sc. in Electronics in 2000 and his PhD in image processing for remote sensing in 2005 from the Department of Physics, University of Patras, Greece. His main research interests include image processing, pattern recognition, remote sensing and data fusion. He serves as a reviewer in the IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing and in the International Journal of Remote Sensing.

Nikos Galanis - BSc Student
He is an undergraduate student in Physics Department University of Patras, specialized in programming issues related to Internet, algorithms in Java and building WEB interfaces for remote sensing WEB tools.
